Coach Swier enters his ninth season as the head coach here at West Chester East. The Vikings are returning 8 players who all have varsity experience and have been contributors in last season or years prior. They also bring in a big freshman class of 14 players. Some of these players will be expected to step up and play key roles in the lineup this year.
The seniors know what is needed from a team perspective to compete in big games. They were apart of the District Championship from 2018. The Vikings look to be competitive and be back on track this year with the Viking culture.

Coach stands at an overall record of 96-67.
Before coaching at East, coach Swier coached at both the middle and high school levels for six years. While at Phoenixville he worked with the outfield, pitchers and catchers. While at Boyertown High School he worked with the outfield and helped the Bears to the second round of districts where they lost to state runner up Neshaminy, by a score of 3-1.
Coach Swier has been a part of many successful coaching programs as he won a district championship in football while at Great Valley in 2014 as well as district runner ups in 2012 while coaching at Spring-Ford High School. He's been fortunate enough to learn and be around great coaches throughout his coaching career.
He currently teaches 9th Grade Personal Finance at Spring-Ford School District. He also coaches middle school football & junior high wrestling for the Rams.
Coach Swier attended Millersville University where he played football for the Marauders from 2004 - 2008.

Coach Fuertes enters his eighth season with the Vikings as an assistant coach. He brings with him over 15 years of experience with coaching softball. Coach Fuertes started out coaching at Exton Little League and currently coaches for the Xpress Elite Showcase. With Xpress, he has helped place 6 players into college softball programs. His main goals for these girls are to continue to grow and develop as a player and a as person, and prepare them for the next phase of their career, while having fun playing the game they enjoy.
Prior to the Xpress, he was with the Valley Forge Patriots where he helped place an additional 9 players into college softball programs. He continues to volunteer at the Exton Little League as well when he can. Coach Fuertes's daughter played for the Vikings and went on to play at Washington and Jefferson College.

Coach Wilson's Playing History
Coach Wilson enters her fifth season with the Vikings as an assistant coach for East softball. She is very excited to join the Vikings and coach many of her former players. Prior to this Coach Wilson coached the Fugett softball team for eight years. She currently coaches 8thgrade girls basketball at FMS.
